Shanina Shaik and DJ Ruckus's Stunning Bahamas Wedding Photos

Congrats are in order for Shanina Shaik and Gregory “DJ Ruckus” Andrews! The couple—she's a model, he's an in-demand DJ—married this past Saturday on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. The pair first met in 2015, when Shanina found herself sans entourage during Coachella. "Just before I was going to leave, Greg noticed that I was alone and came over to speak with me," she recalls. "We had the most wonderful conversation." From that moment on, the bride says, she was sure he was "the one." Greg was sure, too, and they dated for just eight months before he proposed. "When you know, you know," Shanina adds. To propose, Greg planned a tropical Christmas vacation with Shanina and her mother at his family's place in the Bahamas. The day after the holiday, he organized an impromptu beach trip with Shanina and his cousin—or so she thought! Greg's cousin, of course, never showed up, and he instead popped the question in front of the crystal blue waters. And that's not all: Greg proposed with not one but two Lorraine Schwartz rings! "He asked me to choose my favorite ring, and, unfortunately, I could only choose one," she says, with a laugh.

After an engagement like that, it's no surprise that Shanina and Greg decided to marry in the Bahamas as well. In fact, they decided to say "I do" on the exact stretch of sand where they were engaged. "I've always dreamt of marrying on the beach," says the bride, who grew up in Australia. The stunning setting—the Other Side in Eleuthera—became their inspiration for the day, and the couple enlisted the help of Little Island Design to create a tropical-inspired wedding there. "Our wedding reflected our personal style (simple and elegant) with the added touch of a bohemian vibe as well," explains the bride.

Keep reading to see more of Gregory “DJ Ruckus” Andrews and Shanina Shaik's island celebration, as photographed by the talented Sara Lobla. Trust us: You'll be more than inspired—especially when you see the bride's stunning Missy Dress gown!

The couple invited their friends and family for a weekend's worth of festivities. The events started on Friday night with a rehearsal dinner on a terrace overlooking the beach. Shanina wore a long-sleeved white dress and wedges by Zimmermann for the occasion. The groom wore a bright shirt that match the party's floral arrangements.

For the rehearsal dinner, the couple selected a color palette that complemented the island's natural landscape. Bamboo folding chairs and wicker place mats acted as a neutral base, while arrangements of local flowers added pops of orange and pink to the decor.

After dinner, guests moved over to the beach, where a casual lounge area was set up with tiki torches, lanterns, and low seating arrangements in the sand.

On the big day, the bride got ready with her bridesmaids, including Nicole Williams, Nadine Leopold, Natalie Halcro, Jasmine Tookes, and Olivia Pierson. The women wore matching robes for a photo op and were joined by an additional mini guest: a dog dressed in a tux!

Shanina paired her hexagon-shaped engagement ring with two coordinating bands, all by Lorraine Schwartz. As a wedding-gift, a close friend helped select her bridal shoes. "She took me to Harrods, to the private shopping suite," she says. "After looking at so many amazing options, I decided to go with a stunning pair of Aquazzura shoes." The bride later changed into a second heel—this time by Jimmy Choo—when she slipped into a second dress for dancing.

For her wedding gown, Shanina turned to the husband-and-wife design team at Missy Dress, who helped create her dream dress over the course of eight months. "I wanted it to be simple, bohemian, and elegant," she says. "I love a boho style and I wanted to give it a little twist by incorporating lace." The result? A gorgeous off-the-shoulder creation featuring delicate lace and an increasingly sheer fabric toward the hem.

How Black Panther's Costume Is Modeled After Superman's In Man Of Steel

One of the key praises of Black Panther are the gorgeous costumes on display throughout the movie. In addition to the casual wear of Wakandan citizens, Black Panther gets a new, sleeker suit in the movie. While the suit is full of new technological powers in the film, costume designer Ruth Carter was focused on making it look as good as possible.

Man of Steel costume designer Michael Wilkinson created Superman's suit in three layers, one of which included a silver metallic rubber that served as a muscle layer. The look was done in order to make Superman look like he was an actual man of steel, but Black Panther's Ruth Carter thought that it would be an amazing look for her own superhero subject.

Ruth Carter told Inverse that Black Panther's costume was designed with the thinnest, nylon-like jersey material. Carter was warned not to use this material because it doesn't work well with stunts, but Carter went with it anyway because she knew how good it would make the hero look.

f you'd like to see this Black Panther costume in all its glory, you can see the movie, which is out in theaters right now. For more Marvel movies heading to theaters, be sure to visit our Marvel movie guide.

Paddington 2 becomes best reviewed film ever

In the lineup of the most critically acclaimed films, Citizen Kane and The Godfather have been bested by a bear from “darkest” Peru. The aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes has declared Paddington 2 to be the best reviewed film in the site’s history.

The comedy – which is directed by the British film-maker Paul King and stars Hugh Grant, Sally Hawkins and Hugh Bonneville, – has received 164 consecutive positive reviews from critics.

Rotten Tomatoes classifies reviews of a film as either “fresh” or “rotten” and awards a percentage rating based on its aggregate score. The website had previously declared another film, Greta Gerwig’s comedy-drama Lady Bird, to be the best reviewed ever after it overtook a record long held by Toy Story 2. But Lady Bird later received a negative review, breaking its positive streak and losing its “best reviewed” crown.

Paddington 2, which was released in UK cinemas in November, has also proved popular with audiences. To date, the film has earned £41m at the British box office and more than £101m worldwide.

However, Paddington 2 has some way to go before it outdoes its predecessor film, which earned more than £190m globally.

As 'The Last Jedi' Tops $800M In Two Weeks, Is 'Star Wars' Doomed?

Star Wars: The Last Jedi has earned over $400 million at the North American box office after 12 whole days of domestic release, or the same amount of time it took The Force Awakens to cross $600m. That makes the film the third fastest such sprinter behind The Force Awakens (eight days) and Jurassic World (ten days). Oh, and the $200m+ sci-fi actioner has soared past $844m at the global box office after about two weeks of global play, the same amount of time it took The Force Awakens to nab $1.228 billion. It will probably end the year just over/under $500m domestic and $1 billion worldwide. Say it with me now, #CanThisFranchiseBeSaved?

A lot of breathless, eye-grabbing headlines are out there proclaiming the death of Star Wars at the hands of the evil Rian Johnson. After all, The Last Jedi upset a certain corner of fandom, so any way to reel in the anger and outrage of that very vocal, very online-all-the-time crowd is a safe bet. And besides, the film pulled down $220 million domestically its first weekend and then plunged harder than any film ever had before it for its second weekend, nabbing just over $68 million before Christmas---the first motion picture to fall over $150 million in its first two weekends.

In the weeks since The Last Jedi’s premiere, much has been made about how the film turns the Force from the province of a particular family (high midi-chloriansor not) to something available to anyone—even a nobody from the desert planet of Jakku like Rey. But in some ways this turn of events is hardly surprising: If many religious narratives are bound up in anticipating a chosen one, others teach that spiritual leadership can emerge from the least likely of places.

There may yet be a day when Disney's Star Wars movies cease to become events. Maybe it'll be Solo, maybe it'll be the first installment of the next trilogy, or maybe it'll be well into the future. But that The Last Jedi isn't pulling in the numbers of The Force Awakens or the legs of The Phantom Menace is no reason to argue that the franchise is in any real peril. In this case, very good is still good enough.

Kevin Feige Explains Thor 3 Infinity Gauntlet Retcon

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige explains how they solved the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s big Infinity Gauntlet issue in Thor: Ragnarok. In Kenneth Branagh’s first Thor film from 2011 – back when the shared universe was just getting off the ground – the studio added several easter eggs to tease what was to come in the future, including placing the Infinity Gauntlet inside Odin’s vault on Asgard. However, they unwittingly cornered themselves by doing so.

“As we learn in this movie, he vanished his firstborn daughter because he sort of got what he needed, he got to the top of the Nine Realms and it was like oh, this is much too violent. And Hela says, glad to have it, ashamed of how we got it. And we see that mural in the movie of [how] it was not a pleasant history of how Asgard got all that gold. So Odin has a history of doing what he wants to do to maintain power. And going back, I mean, now it’s probably five years ago we started again just in our internal creative group saying, ‘Well, it’s fake.’ Because if the Asgardians knew that there was something that had that kind of power, that could theoretically wipe out Asgard and whatever else with a, in the comics, a literal snap of the fingers. They might question Odin’s ability to protect them.

The gauntlet’s inclusion in 2011’s Thor was the first major tease to Starlin’s universe-altering storyline and seeing the sudden appearance of the second gauntlet – which could have been chalked up to fan-service at the time – brought about one of the MCU’s biggest unanswered questions, especially since everything is supposed to be connected. Without the retcon, the only other opportunity for the studio to address the issue would have been Anthony and Joe Russo’s Avengers: Infinity War, but now, that film can focus solely on Thanos and his loyal Black Order obtaining the six Infinity Stones.

At the moment, one Infinity Stone is still unaccounted for and it seems its location may not be revealed until Infinity Warhits theaters next summer. Then again, Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther could always surprise audiences with the Infinity Stone’s inclusion.
